In a hard-fought battle on Saturday night, South Alabama emerged victorious against Arkansas State with a final score of 21-14. La'Damian Webb showcased his explosive running skills, accumulating an impressive 163 yards and scoring a crucial touchdown. Quarterback Carter Bradley played a pivotal role, throwing two touchdown passes and completing 19 of 25 passes for 140 yards.

The game kicked off with a competitive spirit, and Arkansas State initially took the lead with Dominic Zvada's 36-yard field goal, giving them a 3-0 advantage with 9:18 left in the first quarter. However, South Alabama quickly responded as La'Damian Webb showcased his speed and agility with a remarkable 60-yard run, setting the stage for his 13-yard touchdown just two minutes later. From that point forward, the Jaguars seized control of the game and never relinquished their lead.

One of the defining moments occurred in the second quarter when Todd Justice executed a fake punt, rushing for 19 yards to convert a fourth-and-5 at the South Alabama 41. Capitalizing on this momentum, Carter Bradley connected with Jamaal Pritchett for a 20-yard touchdown pass, extending the Jaguars' lead to 14-3 with just 7 seconds remaining in the first half.

Arkansas State attempted to mount a comeback with Zvada's 44-yard field goal early in the third quarter. Nevertheless, South Alabama swiftly responded, with Caullin Lacy returning the kickoff 40 yards to near midfield. La'Damian Webb then converted a fourth-and-1 with a short run, setting the stage for Carter Bradley to find Jamaal Pritchett once again, this time for a 24-yard touchdown. This sequence of events propelled

South Alabama to a commanding 21-6 lead midway through the third quarter.

Despite the Jaguars' dominance, Arkansas State fought valiantly in the closing moments. Jaylen Raynor, with a 15-of-28 passing performance for 186 yards, showcased resilience, culminating in a 46-yard touchdown pass to Jeff Foreman with 3:36 left in the game. However, an interception marred their late-game efforts.

South Alabama's victory not only showcased their offensive prowess but also highlighted their defensive resilience. The win improves their record to 5-5 overall and 3-3 in the Sun Belt Conference, positioning them for a strong finish to the season. As the Jaguars celebrate this hard-earned triumph, they look forward to carrying this momentum into future matchups.
